Sir, - As we move into July, birdwatchers may wish to be aware of the appearance of two species which have, over the past few years, become regular visitors to our shores. I refer to the fellathatsin bird and the yerwanouta bird.
Both species may be seen in theatres throughout Ireland during July and August and their appearance attracts large numbers of spotters. Don't be surprised, therefore, if, as you sit back to enjoy a show in some theatre, a fancier in your vicinity spots a member of the species on stage and loudly whispers: "that the fellathatsin Glenroe" or "that's yerwanouta Fair City."
Ah, happy days! - Yours, etc.,
John McDwyer, Summerhill, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim.
