Statues and public places

Sir, – Finn McRedmond in her Opinion piece (October 7th) rightly points out that the erection of statues are "far from being historical accounts of the past " and are "reminders of our fluctuating morals and priorities ". To appease the "no statues brigade" and the "offended by statues brigade", might I suggest a "Museum for Offensive Statues" where the statues that morally offend can be viewed alongside information detailing their historical and cultural background. – Yours, etc,
