Sir, – I really enjoyed Ciara O'Brien's article on cycling safely and especially reading about the innovative Hovding helmet complete with airbag (Technology, November 8th). What a clever idea. However, she did not mention a rear-view mirror, one very inexpensive but essential piece of equipment, available in bicycle shops for about €10. It is easily attached to the handle bars and means you are aware of traffic behind you at all times. – Yours, etc,
