Sir, – The photograph of a starving child in Somalia (World News, August 5th) is shocking. It is hard to understand how such hunger exists in a world where there is plenty. We must do something. It is not just enough to send money and hope that will ease our conscience. This situation cannot be allowed to continue.
These people are human beings. There is something terribly wrong with the human race that we seem to be just looking on at this appalling situation. How can we be so complacent? Each and every one of us has a duty and responsibility to our fellow human being. Can any of our experts/politicians/leaders come up with suggestions about what can be done? – Yours, etc,
