‘Schools rugby turning toxic’

Sir, – I have always considered it utterly unconscionable that I, as a taxpayer, should have to subsidise the education of students who attend the private schools that Owen Doyle writes about (“‘Your father works for my father’: Schools rugby turning toxic in the stands”, Sports Opinion, February 14th).

Reading his commentary on the disgraceful behaviour of past pupils from such schools, I feel insult has been added to injury. – Yours, etc,

ANN HARNETT
