Sir, - On Who wants to be a Millionaire last week, Gay Byrne was shocked when the unfortunate contestant did not know that RTE was celebrating its 75th birthday especially as "it had been mentioned on the radio all the time".This is another example of the corporate arrogance that is endemic in RTE. When will RTE and the people who speak on its behalf accept that they are now the junior player in Irish radio - with 49 per cent of the national market - while independent radio is now the bigger player.With less than half of the nation's listenership going to RTE, it is actually unlikely that any given contestant would have heard about RTEs 75th birthday on the radio! - Yours, etc.,
