Sir, - As a once- or twice-a-year visitor to Dublin who has driven in cities in many parts of the world, may I offer a suggestion? Put up some road signs!
Thousands of foreigners visit Ireland and rent cars each year. Is it too much to expect some road signs? Why not ask Mr Alfie Kane, the Chairman of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, and other significant others to get in the cars of tourists or country people and note their frustration. Just try driving from Ballsbridge to Rathgar and other places around the city. Then try to make a return trip. One would not need to be a rocket scientist or fighter pilot to see the difference some clear directions would make. - Yours, etc.,
