Sir, - As Pentecost Sunday approaches (May 26th) we would like to draw attention to an omission in the Roman Catholic Lectionary. The reading from the lectionary restricts those present at Pentecost to "the apostles" which usually indicates the 12.
It is clear from Scripture, however, that the 12 were not alone but were accompanied by others including several women as well as Mary, the mother of Jesus. - Yours, etc.,
