Madam, - Internet service providers regularly claim that there is nothing they can do to restrict pornography on the internet; yet Google found no difficulty in limiting content for Chinese web users to that which was approved by their government; similarly, the US government has effectively introduced a ban on on-line gambling.
This morning I enquired with a credit card provider which offers a pay-on-line service for websites. It had some 60 forbidden categories (including alcohol, tobacco, and mortgage advice!) but porn and erotic services were quite acceptable.
Perhaps EU citizens might be better served if Brussels left Microsoft alone for a while and focused instead on forcing service providers and credit card companies to clean up their act. - Yours, etc,
