Panino, panini, paparazzi, paparazzo

Sir, – I was amused by a correspondent on last Saturday’s letter page slapping the wrist of the compiler(s) of your Simplex crossword on the incorrect use of Italian words.

May I add my twopence worth? One should order a panino (sandwich in Italian) and not a panini (a sandwiches). Equally distressing is being followed by paparazzi when one is being pursued by a paparazzo.

Wall art is important too, so enjoy the graffiti unless there is only one graffito to be seen.

– Yours, etc,

Co Kerry.
