Sir, - Why should a priest found guilty of child sex abuse be called "Father"? Within the Catholic family, this term expresses love and protectiveness. Since such priests are ordained ministers, should not the media simply refer to them as Reverend?
I equally dislike such men being called "paedophiles." This is a beautiful word, suggesting a deep love of children. Why not use the more apt Greek words paedomania and "paedomaniacs" for those who, with uncontrolled passion and frenzy, abuse little ones? - Yours, etc.,
