Sir, - There seem to be many calls for a gesture by nationalists to reciprocate the decision of some of the Orange institutions not to insist on their right to march through nationalist areas in the North. Is there any way the Irish Government and authorities in the Republic can reciprocate? An Orange march is allowed to take place already every year in Rossnowlagh, Co Donegal, and it goes off without trouble. In fact, many people turn out to watch the parade and to listen to the bands.Should the county councils of Louth and Meath facilitate any commemoration at the actual site of the battle of the Boyne as a form of reciprocation? What are the arguments for and against? - Yours, etc.,FRANK MURPHY, Dalkey,Co Dublin.
