Sir, - In a recent issue of The Irish Times, a letter appeared suggesting that the name of Michelle Smith's native village be changed from Rathcoole to Smithville.
May I suggest that the name be changed to Ballygowan, or Baile Gabhainn (The Home of the Smiths), in recognition of her love of the Irish language. - Yours, etc.,
