Older and wiser

Sir, – Since I turned 65, I have repeatedly been confronted with evidence that I don’t look as young as I feel.

On Monday, my brother and I were cycling on the very beautiful Royal Canal Greenway. As we headed west out of Kilcock, we met two young women who were walking in the opposite direction. When they were past us – but not out of range of my still-adequate hearing – one said to the other: “Fair play to them.” – Yours, etc,
