The heat generated on the Twelfth

A chara, – Your report on the monster bonfires that are readied for ignition across the North on the Eleventh Night would be funny if it wasn’t so serious (“‘We’re here protecting our identity’”, Weekend, July 10th).

Craigyhill in Larne, at over 147ft high and made up of over 16,000 pallets, had the dubious honour of being the tallest bonfire in the North.

You would wonder too why there was ever a need for a Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme in the North.

The events around the Twelfth help to ensure the temperature there never drops. – Is mise,
