Sir, – Jacky Jones's assertion that "flat-earth minded" obstetricians will not accept the new National Standards for Safer Better Maternity Services is frankly bizarre ("Will the new standards for maternity services make a difference to women's health?", Second Opinion, January 23rd). Obstetricians were key contributors to the new standards and are lobbying for appropriate funding for their implementation. Perhaps Jacky Jones is presenting "alternative facts"? – Yours, etc,
