Sir, - In the light of your disclosures that the estates of deceased pensioners are being penalised because the late pensioners did what countless Governments urged and saved money, can it now be assumed that the same yardsticks will be applied to TDs and Ministers and that ministerial and other pensions will be adjusted if it is shown that the TD of Minister had other income, sources of financial support or undeclared funds?
Furthermore, it is not time that the Government should be compelled, like any other institution, to provide an annual statement to every tax and PRSI payer in the country which would detail the total tax paid in a working lifetime, and the entitlements flowing from cumulative PRSI payments to the State? - Yours, etc.,
Dermot Walsh,
Ennis Road, Limerick.
