Madam, - Frank Falls (July 30th) says Ireland must encourage more young people to study science. One thing that could be done without any cost to the Exchequer is to award higher points to maths, physics and chemistry in the Leaving Certificate. These three subjects are perceived by secondary school students as being particularly difficult. - Yours, etc,
