Sir, – I fail to understand why it is necessary to enable any taxpayer-funded telephones (in Leinster House or elsewhere) to be used to dial premium rate phone numbers. To the best of my knowledge (and I would welcome any corrections), there is no sound operational case for this facility. I would be very curious to know what savings would be achieved if the service were completely removed from taxpayer-funded telephones. – Yours, etc,
