Sir, – In a land where most media commentators invest heavily in rose-coloured spectacles, it was reassuring to read the remarks of your correspondent Dan O’Brien on the poor quality of Irish political leadership (Business This Week, June 1st).
Taoiseach Enda Kenny was reluctant to engage in debate on the recent referendum. Most Ministers are unable to communicate effectively and are forced to rely on overpaid media clinics, advisers and spin doctors. Exchanges in the Dáil also reveal an astonishing degree of inarticulacy.
