GOVERNMENT PRIORITIES

ITA HULTON,

ITA HULTON,

Sir, - On Good Friday morning we received Easter greetings from our local TD, the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern. In his message he proudly declares how "Dublin Central Fianna Fáil has delivered". Some of his claims caught my eye: "Children have been our priority"; Fianna Fáil has achieved the lowest primary class size ever; the National College of Ireland has moved to the Docklands.

I find it strange that Fianna Fáil can deliver the above and other matters noted in their message and at the same time say it is powerless to counteract the loss of a teacher from our primary school in East Wall last year. The children of East Wall are obviously low on the Taoiseach's list of priorities. - Yours, etc.,

ITA HULTON,
