GOODBYE EUROSPORT

NTL's contempt for the paying subscriber is nothing new

NTL's contempt for the paying subscriber is nothing new. Sometime ago they replaced the popular National Geographic channel with the much less appealing Discovery and now they have introduced, in lieu of Eurosport, the NBC commerce channel which is already proving something of a dead duck as far as the punter is concerned.

... Sir, - What on earth has prompted NTL to remove Eurosport from our television screens? Surely it is self-evident that the Irish viewers' interest in sport of all kinds is well nigh insatiable. Yet in one fell swoop and without explanation NTL have, in effect, pulled the plug on the Winter Olympics, the up-coming golf classics and the tennis grand slams, just some of the events the subscriber could have been watching on Eurosport had it not been so arbitrarily consigned to oblivion by an organisation which should know better.
