Madam, – Three cheers for Orna Mulcahy with regard to her article on litter louts (Opinion, June 5th).
A recurring complaint when out canvassing was about streets not being swept by the council. But it is people who litter the streets. In rural areas it’s slung out of the car window, dumped down country lanes and of course, loutish farmers litter the public highways with their muck. If we all took responsibility for the area adjacent to our establishment, a large part of the problem would be resolved. – Yours, etc,
