Madam, - I disagree with Mary Tobin ("Disappointed by a diva", November 21st). "Kiri te Kanawa in Concert" is not necessarily Kiri te Kanawa singing operatic arias. The first half of her programme comprised lieder, which requires gentle and sensitive delivery. She certainly treated us to that.
We were spared the popular arias trotted out in many gala concerts, and of which some of us have grown tired. We were sitting in Row J and could hear her comments quite clearly. She certainly did not "mumble". Well done, Dame Kiri. - Yours, etc,
