Madam, - I think it is a pity that the Government has decided to restrict people from Bulgaria and Romania coming here to work. As citizens of the European Union, people from these countries can come here anyway, and many of them are likely to end up as undocumented workers. This will mean they are more likely to be exploited and also that the State will be losing their contributions to income tax and PRSI.
It is particularly odd to see Irish people being encouraged to buy property in Bulgaria and Romania, while Bulgarians and Romanians are denied jobs here. Is this a Europe of equals? - Yours, etc,
