Sir, - I would like to praise the British Ministry of Defence for its courage and foresight in presenting a new initiative in the decommissioning crisis. The destruction of two rifles used on Bloody Sunday sends a clear message to all those reluctant to destroy their armaments, whatever their reasons may be. We need more acts of such moral fortitude if we are ever to have peace on this island.
