Sir, - I assume that the purpose of question 13 in the current census form is to establish the strength of the Traveller community. But, if so, why the need to elicit a negative response from the settled community to produce a completely redundant statistic?
I find this deeply offensive. This is a question that nobody would have the gall to put to a householder on his own doorstep. - Yours, etc.,
