I have been surprised that there has been little discussion about the effect that the casino etc., would have on one of the greatest amenities that Dubliners enjoy - the Phoenix Park.

Apart from the visual impact of the enormous constructions on the hitherto unspoiled skyline, there would be incessant and perhaps bumper to bumper through traffic; possible car parking over large areas and a probably spill over of crime into the park itself, perhaps making it at times, a no go area for ordinary citizens.

Is not this too high a price to pay for the dubious benefits of a casino and sports arena in close proximity to this priceless open space enjoyed by generations of Dub liners? It is not acceptable that it should be destroyed for someone's financial gain. Yours, etc.,
