Sir, - As a regular user of the Cork Dublin road, I am dismayed to hear of South Tipperary County Council's routing plans for the proposed Cashel bypass. These plans eliminate views of the Rock of Cashel from the Dublin Cork road.
In making such plans, it should be a major consideration that visibility of the country's best known, and possibly most important monument should not be limited in this way. Surely users of the road - Ireland's busiest - ought not be deprived of this unique visual treat, when an alternative exists which maintains visibility of the monument.
I ask the planners to take a broader view and consider the negative impact of their proposals for so many road users, both native and tourist. - Yours, etc.,
