Madam, - I travelled on Bus Éireann from Dublin to Carrickmacross last Tuesday evening.
The bus dropped me off on the Carrickmacross bypass as it was not going into the town.
I walked a third of a mile along a busy road to the nearest footpath, in the dark, wearing a dark coat.
It is hard to credit that our national bus company has such little regard for the safety of its passengers that it can consider it acceptable to have an official bus stop on a new and busy road that was not designed to provide such a facility. - Yours etc
