A fear of foxes

Sir, – There has been a deafening silence from the anti-hunt brigade concerning the recent case in an English village of a baby being taken from its cot by a fox and mutilated (World News, February 11th).

In this village foxes are encouraged by residents to roam freely and fed by them; and apparently this is true of many English villages. This is a direct result of the banning of hunting in England. Another concern is that the time is fast approaching when rabies and other diseases associated with these vermin will spread to humans; not to mention the danger from foxes to babies and young children. – Yours, etc,

DAVID POTTERTON,

Hunt Supporter,
