Letters: Cinematic output requires a warning

Some of us like to watch a film in relative peace

Sir, – Róisín Ingle tells us that on her recent trip to see Marty Supreme (“My trial run at the empty nest left life all too quiet”, Life, February 25th), the film had her “cheering and cringing and startling out of her chair”. It also, apparently, “made” her wave her arms about.

It’s great to hear that she enjoyed herself so much, but would there be any possibility that readers could be warned of Róisín’s planned trips to the cinema so that those of us who like to watch a film in relative peace (no problem with laughter or quiet sobbing) could avoid them? – Yours, etc,

DAVID McKENNA,

Dublin 8.
