Sir, – While having no criticism whatsoever of the artist, the new stamp design by An Post is very disappointing. The images shown of the Aran jumpers look flat, unlike the chunky hand-knitted geansaí that is known across the world.
An Post had an opportunity to publish more realistic versions of the Aran Jumpers that would show them in a more representational format. They would also be more recognisable and would undoubtedly fly the flag for Irish wool and textile design. – Yours, etc,
