Sir, – Car Insurance premium up 30 per cent (Letters, July 15th). I can beat that. My proposed renewal is up 45 per cent online or 51 per cent by phone.

Again, no change in circumstances, no claims, no penalty points and low mileage. Nor any justification from the insurer, just that premiums are increasing! – Yours, etc,
