Sir, – Michael McDowell’s article “Is anyone doing the sums on our climate strategy?” (Opinion & Analysis, September 6th) is an interesting summary of the failure to meet ambitious targets, and how this squanders political credibility.
In particular, he mentions the missed targets connected to climate change such as afforestation and wind farms.
In addition he quite rightly points out the housing deficit, and the desperate need to speed up the planning and development process.
There certainly seems to be a breakdown between our politicians and administrators, but will this be cured by the recent increase in the number of our TDs? – Yours, etc,
