Sir, – As a former government chief whip in the Fine Gael, Labour and Democratic Left government of 1994 to 1997, I am angry and embarrassed at the selfishness and petulance shown by three Fine Gael Ministers of State in setting down pre-budget demands. It demonstrates clearly that they haven’t a clue about how a coalition government works.
Keep on this path, boys and girls, and you’ll do a great job of further smoothing the path of Sinn Féin into government. – Yours, etc,
