A photograph caption in yesterday’s edition stated in error that Kingsley Aikins is president of the Worldwide Ireland Funds while an article described him a consultant to the funds. Mr Aikins, who is no longer an employee of the funds, was succeeded as president by Kieran McLoughlin and his consultancy work for the funds has ceased.
A headline and article in last Saturdays edition on Alaskan photographer Corey Arnold quoted him as stating that he believed the EU Common Fisheries Policy was attempting to wipe out coastal communities. Mr Arnold says he believes current EU fisheries policy threatens the livelihood of coastal communities but he does not believe the policy-makers have malicious intent.
