An 18 year old youth admitted assaulting a 16 year old girl and a 13 year old boy outside a shop at Cedarwood Park, Dundalk, on September 16th, Dundalk Juvenile Court has heard.
Judge Flann Brennan ordered that the youth could be named as he was of age.
The court also heard that on July 21st, Wayne Casey, of Oaklawns, Dundalk, had produced a screwdriver and threatened to stick it into another teenager who had seen him sitting in the passenger seat of his father's car with the radio completely detached from it. Damage to the car cost £100 and the radio was worth £180.
Casey was also before the court in relation to causing criminal damage of £2,198 and stealing £5,195 worth of goods. Garda Colm Dempsey and Garda John McMahon said the defendant had replied "guilty" when charged with the offences. Insp Tom Brady, Dundalk, said the charges included the larceny of 60 pairs of jeans valued at £1,406.
Judge Brennan remanded him in custody to next week's court to consider whether to accept jurisdiction in the matter.
