A 16-year-old youth has been remanded in custody after he appeared in court charged with the murder of Dublin man Aidan O'Kane outside his home in East Wall last weekend.

The boy, who may not be named, appeared before the Dublin Children's Court before Judge Bryan Smith charged with murdering Mr O'Kane in a laneway between Bargy Road and Shelmalier Road on Sunday night.

He was remanded in custody to appear before the court again on December 17th.

Another male teenager who was detained at Store Street has been released without charge, as has a female who was detained in Mountjoy Garda station.

Four people remain in custody (three males and one female), at Store Street, the Bridewell, Pearse Street and Whitehall Garda stations.

Two male teenagers arrested in relation to the fatal shooting were released from custody without charge last night.

A widower, Mr O'Kane was originally from Clontarf and had moved to East Wall less than a year ago.
