Thieves steal almost 200 Christmas trees from shop

UK police hunt suspects who have ‘ruined Christmas’ for Manchester customers

Footage has been released of thieves stealing almost 200 Christmas trees.

The owners of the Khawja Brothers Mini Market in Manchester Road, Chorlton, Manchester, have been left "devastated" by the loss of 190 trees, which were stolen over a three-day period.

One of the owners said that the thieves had “almost ruined” Christmas for his customers.

Greater Manchester Police released black and white CCTV showing the culprits helping themselves to the trees in the hope of catching the offenders before Christmas.

Officers said that at about 9.40pm on November 28th, the men stole trees from the store, before returning once again between then and Monday, November 30th, and taking more trees.

Vans spotted

The van the thieves used has since been spotted in Chorlton selling Christmas trees.

Detective Trudy Lindsey, of South Manchester division, said: "The shop owners were devastated to discover that 190 of their Christmas trees had been stolen.

“This is their livelihood and the offenders selfishly put their business in jeopardy.

“The van has been spotted in Chorlton since, offering people Christmas trees. If you are offered one to buy I would ask that you contact police immediately.

“If you recognise the men in the CCTV, please get in touch with us and help us to catch those responsible.”
