London - A woman claimed yesterday she was left a "monster" after treatment for leaking silicone breast implants went badly wrong.
Fashion designer Ms Christine Williamson (48), of Casimir Road, Clapton, said the operation to remove her right breast and much of her chest muscle meant she "was not a woman any more". She was awarded £20,636 compensation for the failure of St Bartholomew's Hospital in London to obtain her consent for the radical surgery. Her left breast was also unnecessarily scarred after the operation, the High Court heard.
