A DUBLIN woman was strangled with a ligature, Dublin City Coroner's Court was told yesterday. The body of Mrs Geraldine Diver (42), of Kilnamanagh Road, Walkinstown, was found in her car which was abandoned in an industrial estate off the Long Mile Road on December 3rd last.
The City Coroner, Dr Brian Farrell, agreed to a request by Insp Michael Fitzpatrick of Ballyfermot Garda station for an adjournment of the inquest until October 16th. The woman's husband, Mr John Diver, attended the brief hearing.
Mr Edward Diver, of Stanaway Road, Kimmage, Dublin, said he had formally identified his sister in law at St James's Hospital to Insp Fitzpatrick, who identified her to the State Pathologist, Dr John Harbison. He told the inquest the post mortem showed cause of death was asphyxia due to strangulation with a ligature.
Mrs Diver, who had a 13 year old daughter and nine year old son, worked at, the Coombe Hospital in Dublin. Her body was found in the driver's seat of her car at the gates to a builders' providers on Robinhood Road.
