Forensic tests were being carried out last night to determine the identity of a woman's body found washed up on Fanore beach on the north Clare coast on Monday morning.
A tourist discovered the body while out walking, a spokesman at Ennistymon Garda station said. The body had been in the water for seven to 10 days. Foul play is not suspected, he added.
