Gardai in Navan say they are following a definite line of inquiry after an attempted robbery of a woman who answered a knock at her front door on Thursday night and was confronted by a person with a large kitchen knife. The woman received cuts to fingers on her left hand after she refused to part with money. She had been in the house with her children at the time.

The culprit left the scene and some time later gardai detained an 11 year old boy and recovered the knife. Two others with him fled on foot.
