A woman (49) is in hospital under Garda supervision today after she was arrested following a lunchtime stabbing in Waterford city yesterday.
The male victim (50) was seriously injured in the attack, but his condition is not life-threatening.
The woman was among four people arrested following the incident on High Street beside the City Square Shopping Centre.
Three men were released and a file sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions. However, the woman was taken to hospital after her arrest but remains in Garda custody.
