Gardaí at Irishtown are appealing for witnesses following an incident on the Strand Road, Sandymount, Dublin this afternoon.
At approximately 4.10 pm a young man entered a petrol station where he threatened and assaulted a member of staff. He left with a small quantity of cash.
The staff member has been taken to hospital.
The young man is described as 5 ft 6 inches in height and was wearing a black hoodie.
Gardaí are examining CCTV footage from the premises and would ask anyone who was in the area at that time to contact them on 01 6669600.
