The biggest stage seen in Ireland, 5,000 revolving lights, 30 tonnes of video screens, and 35 km of fencing, are being prepared for the arrival of one of Europe's biggest stars, Robbie Williams, into Dublin tomorrow.
Fifteen hundred production personnel are currently setting up the concert, the last date of Williams's European summer tour. It is set to be the biggest event in the Phoenix Park since the Pope came in 1979, with 135,000 tickets sold.
Support acts include Ash, Kelly Osbourne, and The Wannadies. Gates will open at 2 p.m., with the first support act starting at 3 p.m. Williams is expected to arrive onstage at around 8.30 p.m. A traffic management plan, involving about 400 gardaí, has been drawn up. Fans are being asked to use public transport.
