Johannesburg - A white South African was sentenced to 10 years in prison yesterday for dragging a black man to his death behind a truck, the South African Press Association (SAPA) reported.
Businessman Pieter Odendaal (45) was found guilty of culpable homicide for tying his employee Mosoko Rampuru (37) to the back of his pick-up truck and then dragging him 5 km to his death last year.
Bloemfontein High Court Judge A.P. van Coller suspended three of the 10 years, meaning that Odendaal would only spend seven years in jail, serving the remaining three only if he committed an offence within four years after leaving prison.
