Washington - Monica Lewinsky borrowed from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to send a disguised Valentine's Day message to President Clinton last year, the Washington Post said yesterday.

The Post confirmed it had published the ad and printed a copy of it in Tuesday's editions. The ad appeared as follows:

Ms Lewinsky's lawyer said he had "no idea" of the authenticity of the notice. The White House did not comment.
