Watching the flounces, frills and flamenco style

Meet the window dressers: Mary Kelly, Olga Kerr and Helena Carroll

Meet the window dressers: Mary Kelly, Olga Kerr and Helena Carroll. They design all the displays in the windows of the A-Wear stores around the country. They took a morning off during the week to view the latest styles at a showing of the chain's spring/ summer 2002 collection.

Publisher Alice Sheridan and her daughter, Alison Sheridan, were there, checking out the look for their Stena Line magazine, Starboard. With 2.5 million passengers travelling each year, they have a ready-made audience for their bi-monthly glossy magazine, which is free.

Anne-Marie Gannon, a former Miss Ireland, was there checking out the styles too. Fumi Giwa-Byrne, who opens a nail bar shortly in A-Wear, was perfectly manicured, naturally. Joanne McManus, from the Forest Side Shopping Centre in Belfast, and her friend, Denise Taylor, from Newry's Quays Shopping Centre, came south to enjoy the show at Café En Seine.

They watched the gypsy look unfold. It's all frills, flounces and flamenco styles, as well as sailor stripes and cowboy boots.
